Becoming an Expert
Would you rather take cooking classes from Martha Stewart or a first year home economics teacher? Would you rather train with a former Olympic athlete or the person who works at the juice bar at your local gym. Would you rather drive a brand new Ford straight off the assembly line or take a test drive in a car being cobbled together by a kid in their garage. I'm willing to bet that in every instance you went with expertise over inexperience. You should expect the same from your clients.
When people hire a lawyer they like to know that the person they're trusting is worthy of that trust. One great way to prove that is by reaching for expert status in your field. While you don't need to be a household name, you should be able to prove that you know what you're talking about. Expert status isn't given out, it's earned. You have to be willing to put in the work if you want the title.
